12 Dates of Christmas! -- Holiday Date Ideas

5:00 AM

Winter date nights are some of our favorites. There are so many holiday themed activities that are only available this time of year. We also think that this is the best time of year to spend quality time with our loved ones. So, without further ado, here are our top 10 holiday date ideas!

  1. See the lights! We love heading out on drives to look at lights in the neighborhood. But now, most cities will set up elaborate light displays that you can walk or drive through. These are so much fun because the lights always tell a story, and the display is set up, so you can listen to music on your radio that matches the light. Although these displays can sometimes get expensive, you usually pay by car. So, don't discount them. They are wonderful! In Nashville, the lights are always set up in Jellystone Park. You can find more information here: Dancing Lights
  2. Go Ice Skating! Although you can do this year round, it is especially fun to go ice skating in winter. Even though my man is a pro, and I'm still learning, we still have fun!
  3. Drink Hot Cocoa & Decorate the Tree! Not all dates have to be expensive or elaborate. One of our favorite things to do around the holiday season is to drink hot cocoa, listen to Christmas music, and decorate the tree!
  4. Volunteer together! This is a good date idea all year round, but is especially fulfilling this time of year!
  5. Head to a Christmas Themed Show! These will vary by city, but my favorite Christmas display in Nashville is the Ice Show at Opryland. Last year, it was The Night Before Christmas. This year I'm so excited to go to The Nutcracker.
  6. Visit Santa! Even though this may be corny, it brings back sweet memories of visiting Santa as a child. Don't discount it!
  7. Christmas Shop Together! We always keep the presents we buy for one another secret, but it is always fun to buy presents for others together!
  8. Take a Carriage Ride! I don't know why, but this has always seemed so romantic to me. Ideally, I would want to take a carriage ride in NYC, but even Nashville will work!
  9. Bake Christmas Cookies! This is another fun date idea, that doesn't take a lot of preparation! My favorite cookies to make this year are Snowflake Sugar Cookies! Yum!
  10. Christmas Movie Marathon! Snuggling up to watch all of our favorite Christmas movies is always a Christmas must. My very favorite is Miracle on 34th Street.
  11. Go Caroling! My sisters & I used to do this when we were younger. I remember still how peoples' faces would light up when we arrived at their door. One of the simplest, sweetest things you can do at Christmas.
  12. Disneyland! Last but not least, our favorite winter date is Disneyland. Although this is definitely not feasible for everyday, if you ever have a chance to visit Disneyland in the winter, it is a must. It's magical!

What are your favorite Holiday date ideas?? We'd love to hear! Sending you our love! Xx.
